Wise Women Poetry Workshop focuses on and celebrates the work of women and non-binary poets.
In monthly sessions from September to December we’ll read, discuss and draw inspiration from a range of work. You’ll be given ideas and prompts to spark new poems and constructive feedback on your own work in a nurturing, supportive group space.
Discover new work from contemporary poets.
Gain in-depth knowledge of the skills, techniques and preoccupations of some of the best women and non-binary poets writing in English today.
Be inspired to create and share new poetry.
Develop your craft and confidence as part of a supportive community.
Photocopies of poems will be provided, and background material about each book and poet will be available in an online classroom space in advance of each session. You don’t need to buy and read every book, but you are welcome to borrow copies from the tutor or Stroud Library.
We’ll be looking at the following books, in this order:
Bright Dead Things, Ada Limon
It Must be a Misunderstanding, Coral Bracho
The Air Year, Caroline Bird
