Shaping the Draft: from first notes to polished poem

How can you successfully move from first notes or ideas for a poem to something that feels complete and ready for sharing or submission? How can make constructive changes, avoid over-editing, and know when your poem is 'done'?

In this hour-long lunchtime Zoom workshop we'll discuss early drafts by poets including Sylvia Plath, Langston Hughes and Elizabeth Bishop. Through a series of examples we'll consider strategies for effective revision that honour the original impetus or creative spark, helping the poem to find its best possible shape.

This workshop is free, but registration is required.

Attendees will be offered a special new cohort rate (50% off) for the March cohort of Poetical Workshop (limited to 12 spaces), but everyone is welcome to join the free session - no strings attached.

Book your place here.
